About the fabric

Our activewear is made from recycled polyester — mostly from post-consumer plastic bottles. We chose it because it's the best performing material for activewear: durable, quick-drying, UPF 50+ rated, and built to last.
It gives a second life to plastic that already exists in the world.

We're not going to pretend it's a perfect solution. Synthetic fabrics shed microplastics when washed — that's a real issue, and it affects every activewear brand in the industry,
including us.

What we can say honestly is this: recycled polyester uses significantly less energy and water to produce than virgin polyester, and it starts from material that already exists rather than extracting new resources.

Want to reduce microplastic shedding?

  • Wash less frequently. Sweat and saltwater don't degrade the fabric — a rinse in cold water after a swim is often enough.

  • Skip the dryer. Heat breaks down synthetic fibers faster, increasing shedding. Air dry whenever possible.

  • Fill the machine. Fuller loads create less friction between garments, which means less shedding per wash.

  • Use liquid detergent, not powder. Powder detergents are more abrasive on synthetic fibers and increase microplastic release.

  • Wash inside out. Reduces surface friction and protects the print at the same time.
